A sense of precision.
It all starts with imagination: how can threads be spun together from a seemingly endless selection to create an artistic fashion piece? Consistently high quality and efficient speed?
MEM Maschinenbau faced these challenges when it was founded in 1984 as a supplier to the textile industry, which had a long tradition in Westphalia. Although the golden age of textiles in the German-Dutch border region is now history due to globalisation, one thing has remained to this day: a sense of precision. MEM continues to place this basic demand not only on itself, but also on the machines with which the company today manufactures a large number of precision parts for various industries as a supplier.
"The operating and ergonomics are totally simple".
In 1998, graduate engineer Hans-Jürgen Marx joined his father's company. Today, he manages the operation with around 70 employees. The company's centre of gravity is now special machinery, systems and steel construction. This development has intensified since MEM has been working closely with the company GEO Reinigungstechnik in the development and production of industrial cleaning systems. This range also requires an ever higher degree of quality and precision.
Since May 2021, the production hall has also been home to an ACURA 65 MARATHON from HEDELIUS. Marx raves about the milling machine, which has awakened his old passion: "I hadn't stood at a machine for a long time and was really proud when I was able to mill workpieces on the ACURA again. The operating and ergonomics are totally easy."
STANDBY MAGAZIN: More tools for less standstill.
Another advantage is that series parts and individual pieces can be processed simultaneously. The ACURA 65 MARATHON offers a work platform for workpieces up to a size of 700/700/500 mm and a weight of up to 500 kg.
Of course, so much flexibility also requires a large repertoire of tools that can be changed quickly in accordance with this. The STANDBY MAGAZIN makes this possible. Hans-Jürgen Marx was initially sceptical, as he admits: "I thought: Do we really need 245 different tools? But today I know that the more tools we have, the less downtime we have with the machine."
The processes run smoothly, partly because the pallet magazine is linked to the tool magazine via the control system.
And that is exactly to the taste of MEM Maschinenbau from Ahaus - because the ACURA 65 MARATHON from HEDELIUS meets their idea of precision exactly.
HEDELIUS machining centres of the customer.
More testimonials.
Thanks to automation, IWK Verpackungstechnik has been able to significantly increase the production capacity of its HEDELIUS machining centres. By integrating a robot cell, the CNC operators gain valuable time that they can use for the manufacture of single parts. This solution enables IWK to increase its flexibility and further expand production efficiency.
Circelli Engineering Solutions GmbH from Dulliken is one of the start-ups on the Swiss manufacturing scene. Originating as a small design office, the young company has developed into a system provider thanks to its passion and investment in innovative CNC technologies. The founding brothers and owners Paolo Circelli and Marco Circelli explain the role played by the latest FORTE 65 and ACURA 65 machining centres from HEDELIUS.
BL Lasertechnik GmbH turned a disaster into a success story. Despite the devastating fire that destroyed its production halls, the company opted for a quick restart. Thanks to the support of partners such as HEDELIUS, production was resumed and even expanded in a very short space of time.
