DE ROOY lifts heavyweights - thanks to HEDELIUS.
The traditional Dutch company De Rooy thinks big - but its beginnings were all the smaller. "In the truest sense of the word," smiles Frans de Rooy. "That was in 1939, when my great-grandfather Martinus de Rooy took over the grinding of semi-finished products and knives." 85 years later, Frans de Rooy is the fourth generation of the family to run the company, together with his sister Floortje and their uncle Adam de Rooy. Grinding work is still carried out today, but milling and measuring have been added. Unlike back then, however, the workpieces that leave the new factory halls today are very large and often complex. Everything is machined: from stainless steel and aluminium to hardened steel, primarily for the offshore, semiconductor and food industries.
A powerhouse for heavy-duty machining.
The powerhouse for heavy-duty machining - a TILTENTA 10-3600 from HEDELIUS Maschinenfabrik in Meppen - has been in the production hall just outside the gates of Eindhoven for a year now. The Dutch HEDELIUS sales partner PROMAS quickly convinced de Rooy of the benefits of the 5-axis machining centre with infinitely variable swivelling main spindle. "We purchased the TILTENTA 10 for three reasons: firstly because of the powerful HSK-A100 spindle, secondly because it is exactly the right size for the parts we machine and thirdly because it is a complete machine with a lot of optional features. At high capacity utilisation, we can work in two places at the same time, even on large parts."
Excited about 1000 mm Z travel path.
A look at its technical profile also shows that the TILTENTA 10-3600 is a real high performer: 4080 x 1000 mm total contact surface, a fixed machine table with a load capacity of up to 5.5 tonnes, a heavy-duty rotary table with a diameter of 1000 mm and a collision area diameter of a whopping 1450 mm. De Rooy is particularly impressed by the generous Z travel path of 1000 mm, which nevertheless does not require any compromises in terms of user-friendliness: "The TILTENTA 10 is particularly suitable for older employees. The large sliding doors make it easy to reach everything," he says, praising the machine's well thought-out ergonomics.
"We use the TILTENTA as a real all-rounder".
TILTENTA's diverse processing scenarios fit in perfectly with the company's growth strategy. Thanks to the good order situation, the workforce has grown from 85 to 150 employees within five years. "We are very flexible," explains Frans de Rooy, referring explicitly to more than just production. "People who work for us can choose whether they want to work a four-day week or only at night or on weekends. This means we can't complain about a shortage of skilled labour, which is also prevalent in the Netherlands. With our machinery, we can also cope well with this. We use the TILTENTA as a real all-rounder."
Precision - absolutely reliable.
Above all, however, the TILTENTA 10 must ultimately be measured by its work - and De Rooy is more than convinced of this: "We machine very precisely with the TILTENTA. This is what our customers demand and what the machine delivers with absolute reliability." And if there are any questions, the PROMAS or HEDELIUS service team is always on hand. A good feeling, says Frans de Rooy: "Knowing that we will be helped quickly in an emergency gives us safety." So there is nothing left to be desired - at least almost nothing: "The only wish we have for HEDELIUS is that we would like to have a second machine." A wish that Meppen is more than happy to fulfil.

With the ultra-modern 5-axis machining centre ACURA 85 and the MARATHON 518 pallet handling system, the company focuses on automation and technical innovation - a major step forward that not only increases efficiency, but also offers young talents enjoyment of their work and long-term prospects.
Circelli Engineering Solutions GmbH from Dulliken is one of the start-ups on the Swiss manufacturing scene. Originating as a small design office, the young company has developed into a system provider thanks to its passion and investment in innovative CNC technologies. The founding brothers and owners Paolo Circelli and Marco Circelli explain the role played by the latest FORTE 65 and ACURA 65 machining centres from HEDELIUS.
Thanks to automation, IWK Verpackungstechnik has been able to significantly increase the production capacity of its HEDELIUS machining centres. By integrating a robot cell, the CNC operators gain valuable time that they can use for the manufacture of single parts. This solution enables IWK to increase its flexibility and further expand production efficiency.
