HEDELIUS Maschinenfabrik.

Over 55 years of success.

HEDELIUS Maschinenfabrik GmbH in Meppen was founded in 1967 and today employs 247 people. HEDELIUS specialises in the development and production of vertical CNC travelling column machining centres. The extensive machine programme includes three-, four- and five-axis machines as well as automation solutions for single parts and small series production. Customers include machine manufacturers and their suppliers from the special machine construction, agricultural machinery technology, textile industry, aviation industry, vehicle construction, packaging technology and many more.

Foundation & Development

For 55 years, HEDELIUS has had only one goal: to increase efficiency in single parts and small series production in machine, tool and vehicle construction. Over 247 engineers, software developers, mechatronics engineers and mechanics work every day to make CNC machining centres even more productive and reliable. True to the HEDELIUS claim "Technology that pays off", the success factors of ergonomics, productivity and precision are paramount in the development and manufacturing process. With over 3,000 machining centres delivered, HEDELIUS can proudly count itself among the leading manufacturers in Europe.

Positioning.

Financial stability.

For generations, the name HEDELIUS has stood for forward-looking, responsible and future-orientated action. Since December 2016, the family-owned company has been awarded the CrefoZert credit rating certificate by Creditreform Leer. An equity ratio of 70 per cent is evidence of first-class financial stability.

High vertical range of manufacture.

With a high level of vertical integration, HEDELIUS Maschinenfabrik is fully committed to the quality of its products: All essential assemblies and machine elements, from the machine bed to the rotating/swivelling table, are machined in the 1,800 m² machining plant. The latest 5-axis machining centres are available, on which workpieces with a weight of up to 30 tonnes and a length of up to twelve metres can be machined. In recent years, the proportion of in-house production at the Meppen site has been successively increased.

Pioneer of the Operator's platform design.

Whenever large or heavy workpieces are machined, the measurements to be moved impair the dynamics of a machine tool. For this reason, attempts have always been made to close as many machining axes as possible in the tool. More than three decades ago - and thus earlier than others - HEDELIUS recognised the numerous advantages that the Operator's platform design for CNC machining centres offers in this context. Since then, HEDELIUS has dedicated itself to the continuous further development of this technology.

Various application options.

The variety of machining options offered by HEDELIUS is a decisive criterion for medium-sized manufacturing companies in machine, tool and vehicle construction, who usually do not know exactly what parts and orders need to be closed, when and in what batch size. On the one hand, bulky workpieces can be picked up on HEDELIUS machining centres and finished without reclamping. On the other hand, the long contact surfaces also allow multiple clamping of workpieces. If several identical parts are clamped, considerable tool change times can be saved and the machine running time is also extended. The longer travelling column machining centres can also be used in oscillation mode. By expanding the machines with a swivelling spindle and an integrated rotary table, the range of applications can be extended to include 5-axis machining of cubic workpieces.

Solutions for tooling optimisation.

Set-up plays a decisive role in the production of batch sizes between 1 and 500 units. HEDELIUS offers unique solutions that enable customers to drastically reduce their set-up and lead times and significantly increase spindle hours per year. With different machine concepts, well thought-out ergonomics, large tool magazines and easy-to-close automation solutions, HEDELIUS can configure the optimum solution for practically any application from a wide range of technology.

In the service of our customers.

With a fast on-site service and a guaranteed machine availability of 95 per cent, HEDELIUS also sets the standard for service in the German machine tool industry. The free HEDELIUS service hotline is staffed by qualified and experienced advisors who are on hand to help users with any questions they may have. Service, inspection or spare parts requests can be made quickly and easily directly at the machine using the HEDELIUS service app. In the event of a malfunction, a comprehensive network of service technicians guarantees rapid assistance. Over 3,000 Spare parts are always in stock in our central warehouse.
