• "WE HAVE FINDED A BEAUTIFUL SOLUTION TOGETHER."

During the day, standard parts are produced on the TILTENTA 7 and at night the machine runs unmanned on the third shift.

BAADER-Group | TILTENTA 7-2600
Field of application: Food and packaging technology | Company headquarters: Lübeck, Germany | Employees: 1100

The BAADER Group has been family-owned since it was founded in 1919 and now employs over 1100 people worldwide, 500 at its headquarters in Lübeck alone. The centre of gravity at the northern German site is clearly on the production of fish processing machines. Machines for poultry processing are also manufactured abroad and marketed worldwide under the LINCO brand name.

Heterogeneous range of parts in small quantities.

In Lübeck, more than 50 basic variants of the fish processing machines are manufactured on 14,000 m² of production space and sold in customised versions. Due to the large number of different basic models, a large number of components are required, mostly in small quantities. "The average batch size is ten units, and the range of parts is absolutely heterogeneous," says Production Manager Jörg Schröter, describing the situation in production.

Hygiene plays an enormously important role in BAADER's food processing machines, starting with the material of the workpieces. Stainless steel is predominantly processed, but aluminium, brass and plastics are also used to a lesser extent. The components must always be designed in such a way that no bacteria can be deposited on uneven surfaces.

TILTENTA 7-2600 in use around the clock.

Three machines from HEDELIUS are also used for this challenging production task: two combined 3- and 5-axis machining centres RS 605 K and a TILTENTA 7-2600 swivelling spindle machining centre. Thanks to the machine concept from HEDELIUS, a pleasing increase in production was achieved for a special component of the separator systems: Together with the specialists from HEDELIUS, BAADER optimised the production of the component in such a way that the TILTENTA 7-2600 can now manufacture in the third shift without an operator. "During the day, standard parts are produced on the TILTENTA 7, while at night the machine runs unmanned in the third shift," adds engineer Schröter. "We have found a great solution together."

A partnership at eye level.

It was also particularly important for BAADER to have a reliable partner that was open to dialogue. "Of course, there are sometimes problems, but they are released quickly," says Jörg Schröter and reports: "We have never once failed to meet an agreed deadline." In addition to the price/performance ratio, the "Made in Germany" concept was also a convincing factor in the machine procurement. Most of the components for the HEDELIUS machining centres come from Germany. This is a clear advantage for the BAADER Group. "It was important for us to have short distances when procuring spare parts," explains Production Manager Schröter. "The stability and technical version of the machining centres convinced us."

At Carstengerdes Modellbau und Zerspanung GmbH in Bockhorn near Wilhelmshaven, state-of-the-art technology meets a family working environment characterised by genuine appreciation. With the ultra-modern 5-axis machining centre ACURA 85 and the MARATHON 518 pallet handling system, the company focuses on automation and technical innovation - a major step forward that not only increases efficiency, but also offers young talents enjoyment of their work and long-term prospects.

Circelli Engineering Solutions GmbH from Dulliken is one of the start-ups on the Swiss manufacturing scene. Originating as a small design office, the young company has developed into a system provider thanks to its passion and investment in innovative CNC technologies. The founding brothers and owners Paolo Circelli and Marco Circelli explain the role played by the latest FORTE 65 and ACURA 65 machining centres from HEDELIUS.

Thanks to automation, IWK Verpackungstechnik has been able to significantly increase the production capacity of its HEDELIUS machining centres. By integrating a robot cell, the CNC operators gain valuable time that they can use for the manufacture of single parts. This solution enables IWK to increase its flexibility and further expand production efficiency.
